metrotherapy - clinical psychology and psychotherapy in London

People typically come to us for support with both personal and professional issues. Often, they are looking for a space to think about their relationships, their sense of personal happiness, or how they can use psychological understandings to improve performance in the workplace.

We are able to work with all aspects of people's lives, and in our experience, it is helpful to think about how we interact with each other as a way of gaining insight into our difficulties. In all our work, we therefore prioritise psychological models that focus on understanding how we relate to ourselves and each other. We are highly specialist in sex and relationship therapies, and experienced in working with all aspects of sexual health and wellbeing.

A large part of our NHS work is the provision of psychological consultation to a variety of healthcare professionals, including consultant physicians, nurse specialists, and other senior therapists. Individuals and teams approach us to help them make sense of what is happening in their work environment, in their relationships with their patients, their colleagues and their managers. We use models that draw on systems theory and relational dynamics to understand and overcome obstacles, and plan and implement new ways of achieving their goals. As clinical supervisors and academic lecturers, we have become known for our passion and commitment to enhancing psychologists' understanding at all stages in their careers.

We are sought out for our abilities in enhancing critical thinking and experiential learning. Our preference for systemic and psychodynamic models allows to guide psychologists beyond the constraints of CBT. We regularly offer individual therapy and reflective and experiential groups to psychologists, before, after and during their training.
